Yeah. The ASCII and ANSI codes are a PIA though, so I just kind of work on it when I can. Chris Eades reminded me that it won't even run menuconfig on Linux properly, so those are the escape sequences I am working on now. He posted the output on facebook, kind of funny how it craps out. :)

If you are interested in the only true hardware independent software available, you must try Universal Imaging Utility. It handles ALL drivers, HAL issues and does sysprep for you with any modifications needed.

Very cool stuff, I hope to try this soon.

Bit of clarification though, HII is not provided by LANDesk, it's done by a group of LANDesk users & engineers on their own time and posted/hosted at droppedpackets.org

I feel your pain. I was here the entire weekend again, so that customers don't complain to the big boss. I guess it comes with the job. You keep up the good work. I really appreciate all the help I get from you and the one special Server Services guy.

Sometimes, I wished the customer stop asking us to smell the real world because they have no idea what it takes to manage all the technologies that goes into CSN.

I'm not sure that landesk would be the right choice for such environment.
We had had some experience using this tool in more than 1000 desktops environment. It lacked in many things and their support was unable to solve this.
As a result after some time we decided to get rid of this solution and switched to scriptlogic's desktop management system called desktop authority http://www.scriptlogic.com/products/desktopauthority that worked pretty well for us with a great feature set and intuitive interface.
As for the price - it was much cheaper as well.
